Build the infrastructure
that West Africa needs.

SEEA Systems is a founding-stage regulatory technology company based in Accra, Ghana. We build decision-intelligence platforms for food systems, agro-commodity supply chains, and regulated industries across West Africa. We are building a team that will deliver that mission — deliberately, sequentially, and with the same discipline we bring to everything else.

We are actively recruiting. Roles are opened as specific company milestones are reached — not on a fixed calendar. If a role shown below matches your profile, apply now. We review all applications and respond to every one.
How We Hire

Four principles. No exceptions.

Hiring at SEEA Systems is not a response to pressure. It is a deliberate build. Each role is added because a specific capability gap has been identified. These four principles govern every appointment.

01
Domain depth is non-negotiable for senior roles

Every senior hire must carry deep knowledge of the sector they will serve — food science, agricultural commodity systems, pharmaceutical regulation, fermentation science, or data systems for regulated environments. Generic management experience without sector depth does not qualify a candidate for a senior role, regardless of pedigree.

02
Technical competence is required at every level

This is a technology company. Every employee — including client-facing and administrative roles — must be technically literate in the platforms they work with and the environments they work in. We do not hire people who are uncomfortable with data, systems, or analytical thinking and expect to compensate with other strengths.

03
Character before credentials

SEEA Systems operates in complex institutional environments where trust, discretion, and integrity are essential. A candidate with strong credentials and weak character will damage client relationships in ways that cannot be recovered quickly. References are mandatory for all hires. Character assessment is part of every hiring process — not an afterthought.

04
Ghana-first, regionally capable

All hires through Phase 4 are Ghana-based. The company operates out of Accra; its first clients are Ghanaian; its first regulatory environment is Ghanaian. From Phase 5, regional roles are added as West African operations expand. All hires must be willing to work in the operational realities of the environments SEEA Systems serves.

What It Takes

Character before credentials.

The people who thrive at SEEA Systems share a specific set of qualities that cannot be credentialed. These are the attributes we assess in every hiring conversation — not as a checklist, but as a picture of the kind of colleague and professional we are building the team around.

The SEEA Systems team member

Who can work with us.

Comfortable with complexity

SEEA Systems works in institutional environments where problems are multi-layered, stakeholders are numerous, and simple answers are rare. We need people who engage complexity rather than avoid it.

Evidence-driven, not opinion-driven

We build science-led platforms. Our client conversations are grounded in data. Our internal decisions are grounded in evidence. Opinions not backed by evidence are not a contribution — they are a distraction.

Direct and honest

We are direct with clients when conditions are not right for a deployment. We are direct with each other when something is not working. Diplomatic dishonesty is not a SEEA Systems value. Honest delivery with care is.

Mission-connected

We are building infrastructure for West African food and agricultural systems. This is not abstract. It affects real people, real livelihoods, and real market outcomes. The people who work here must feel that connection, not just understand it intellectually.

Reliable under low supervision

SEEA Systems is a small team operating at pace. We cannot manage people closely. Commitments must be kept without reminders. Deadlines must be met or renegotiated before they pass — not after.

Comfortable in the field

The work is sometimes in rural Ghana, in government offices that are not well-equipped, in buying centres, and in laboratories that do not match the comfort of Accra. This is not the exception. It is part of the role.

Phase 2 — Now Open
Engagement & Partnerships Associate
Full-time or part-time · Ghana-based · Reports to CEO
Open
The Role

This is the first external hire at SEEA Systems and one of the highest-leverage appointments the company will make. The Engagement & Partnerships Associate supports the CEO across the first three stages of every client engagement, manages administrative engagement processes, and develops SEEA Systems' presence in donor and institutional networks. This role frees the CEO to focus on discovery, diagnosis, and agreement while ensuring no qualified enquiry falls through a follow-up gap.

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage the enquiry queue: log all incoming contacts, apply qualification criteria, and prepare a qualification summary for the CEO within 24 hours.
  • Schedule and prepare discovery sessions: research the prospect, prepare the five discovery dimension prompts, and produce structured session notes.
  • Support the preparation of Sector Diagnosis Notes and SOW/MoU drafts under CEO direction.
  • Maintain the engagement tracker: ensure all records are complete and up to date across all active engagements.
  • Monitor donor and grant opportunity calendars: identify relevant calls, prepare concept note drafts, and track submission deadlines.
  • Manage SEEA Systems' LinkedIn presence and content scheduling in line with the blog content strategy.
  • Support government engagement logistics: briefing preparation, meeting scheduling, follow-up documentation.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in agribusiness, public health, development studies, food science, or a related field.
  • Strong written English: capable of producing professional correspondence, meeting notes, and brief reports without heavy editing.
  • Experience with or genuine interest in agricultural food systems, regulatory affairs, or development sector programming in Ghana or West Africa.
  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple open threads simultaneously.
Desirable
  • Experience with donor programming (GIZ, USAID, FAO, AGRA, or similar).
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn content management or organisational social media.
  • Any exposure to food systems, commodity sector, or regulatory environment in Ghana.
Compensation

SEEA Systems is a founding-stage company. Compensation at Phase 2 will be below market rate for equivalent roles in established companies. This is acknowledged honestly — not as an apology, but alongside three things that matter to the right candidate: meaningful work with direct impact, genuine learning and growth, and an explicit commitment to market-rate compensation by Phase 5.

Phase 3 — Upcoming
Data Scientist / ML Engineer
Full-time · Ghana-based or remote · Reports to Technical Lead
Upcoming
The Role

This hire extends the platform's AI and data science capabilities beyond what the Technical Lead can absorb alone. The Data Scientist / ML Engineer owns the predictive models, anomaly detection systems, and SHAP explainability layers that power the decision-intelligence outputs across all SEEA Systems flagships.

Essential Qualifications
  • Demonstrable full-stack development capability: ReactJS/Flutter (frontend), Node.js/Flask (backend), PostgreSQL (database).
  • Experience with API design (RESTful, Swagger-documented) and OAuth2 authentication.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML frameworks (transformer models, SHAP explainability, deployment pipelines).
  • Experience deploying applications in offline or low-connectivity environments.
Desirable
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud hosting environments.
  • Exposure to GS1, EUDR, or regulatory compliance data requirements.

This role opens when the first paid client is confirmed and a second pilot or scale-up is underway. Applications are accepted now for pipeline consideration.

Phase 4 — Upcoming
Operations & Finance Manager
Full-time · Ghana-based · Reports to CEO
Upcoming
The Role

As SEEA Systems moves from pilot-stage to multi-client commercial operations, the operational and financial management load outgrows what the founding team can absorb. The Operations & Finance Manager owns the financial reporting, cash flow management, grant reporting, and operational systems that allow the CEO and Technical Lead to remain focused on delivery and growth.

Essential Qualifications
  • Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent professional qualification (ICAG, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years' experience in financial management, operations management, or a combined role in a company, NGO, or development organisation in Ghana.
  • Comfortable with donor grant reporting frameworks (GIZ, USAID, FAO, or equivalent).
  • Strong written English and organised approach to documentation and record-keeping.

This role opens when three or more active clients are generating revenue and a seed round or grant is secured. Applications are accepted now for pipeline consideration.

Phase 5 — Upcoming
AgFood Sector Specialist
Full-time · Ghana-based · Reports to CEO
Upcoming
The Role

This role requires someone with the confidence to lead a discovery session with a COCOBOD director and the patience to work through onboarding with a smallholder cooperative coordinator in the same week. Sector humility — knowing the limits of what you know — matters as much as sector depth in this role.

Essential Qualifications
  • BSc or MSc in food science, agriculture, agribusiness, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' professional experience in Ghana's agro-commodity sector — cocoa, grain, food processing, or export trade.
  • Direct familiarity with at least one of: COCOBOD supply chain, Ghana Grains Development Board, Ghana FDA food division, or equivalent institutional environment.
  • Strong analytical capability: comfortable with data interpretation, quality metrics, and evidence-based client conversations.
Desirable
  • Experience with EUDR, GlobalG.A.P., ISO 22000, or equivalent international food system standards.
  • Exposure to digital agriculture or traceability systems in a professional capacity.
  • Network within Ghana's cocoa, grain, or horticultural export sectors.
Phase 6 — Future
Junior Platform Engineer
Full-time · Ghana-based or remote · Reports to Technical Lead
Future
The Role

This role is designed for a graduate or early-career hire with high technical aptitude and genuine curiosity about regulatory technology. It is not a senior hire. The Technical Lead will invest significant time in upskilling this person. The right candidate is someone who reads documentation before asking questions, keeps a clean commit history, and cares about the quality of what they ship.

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent demonstrable self-taught capability.
  • Proficiency in at least two of: ReactJS, Flutter, Node.js, Flask, PostgreSQL.
  • Comfortable working in a test-driven, version-controlled codebase (Git).
  • Interest in or exposure to regulatory technology, food systems, or development sector tech.
